Clovelly Crustoceans are an inclusive social swim group who meet at the boat ramp of Gordon’s Bay every Friday morning, rain hail or shine.

Our main swim route takes you from the ramp towards the beach, back up towards the bombie, then back to the ramp, totalling between 700-1100m, with some stops between.

Each swimmer has a personal responsibility to determine whether or not they swim on any particular day and should only do so if they are completely confident about their own physical condition, as well as the conditions of the surf, ocean and weather. Ocean swimming is an inherently dangerous recreational activity.

Swimmers take personal responsibility for determining that they can complete a swim safely without any water safety assistance from other swimmers or the group as a whole. If a swimmer has any existing physical condition or any doubt as to their ability to complete a swim they should have a medical check-up first. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

There is no water safety nor insurance in the event of a swimmer sustaining injury. Swimmers acknowledge that the Clovelly Crustoceans are in no way liable for any personal injury or damage sustained in connection with attending Crusty Fridays and accept that they enter the water at their own risk. If you choose to swim at any other time or on any other route, be it with the Crusties, or with friends whom you have made through the Crusties, or any events organised by them, the same applies.

Catch you on Friday 🤌
